Christian/Muslim ThreadsMuhammad on trial: Part 1.No Problem. I would like to bring to the attention of my brothers and sisters that Aburaees addressed only the Christians to make reference to their Bible, not us, so stick to Islamic and non-Christian related sources if you intend to post on this thread. The isnad of Aisha's age when she got married is not authentic. Contradictions This hadeeth contradicts the command of Allah. ...marry women of your choice, two, or three, or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one,... (Quran 4:3) The Arabic word for woman or women is "nisaa'a" only applicable to adult females that are pass the age of puberty. A female not pass the age of puberty is called "ghulaamah". The Quran strickly says to mary Women (nisaa'a) and it did not say to mary females (unthaa) ~ which are females by nature and gender being general to any age. This Quranic command was revealed between 625-626 corresponding to the 3-4 Hijra of the muslim calendar after Aisha had gotten married to him in 623-624 (1-2 Hijra) in which he would have had to divorce her to comply with the command in the Quran but he didnt. There has to be something wrong here cause Muhammad didnt divorce her to comply with the Quran. If we do our home work in authenticating the hadeeth this is what we will fine. What year was Aisha born in ? She was born in 613-614 AD corresponding to the Islamic calendar 8-9 years before the Hijra. Remember she didnt marry Muhammad until 623-624 (1-2 Hijrah) which would make her about 10 years old when he married her, and not 6, When the prophet was taken away Aisha was 19-20 in 632-633 [and not 15-16 if she married him at 6] as all the sources agree to. If she was 9-10 as the dates show from the time of her birth, the time of her marriage, and the time when she became widowed, she had already reached puberty in which she was a woman. Whereas from when the Surah al-nisaa was revealed about two years later making her 11-12 years of age she was long past puberty. The evidence shows the report of the hadeeth is inaccurate, which points her out to be at the age of puberty when she had already achieved the status of a woman when our beloved Prophet married her. Thus placing the consumation years after this as indicated by the sources. |
