Should you wish to discuss, the meaning of Word of God, I am all for it. Perhaps you can make contribution to understanding i.e. explain what you believe Quran to be. Begin with the uncreated part, and does uncreated speech of Allah mean the universe was created for Mohammed? Who fills the words of Quran with meaning, reader's mind or...? Better yet, good time as any to revisit the topic Trinity and Islam duality. http://www.jesus-christ-forums.com/home/viewtopic.php?t=5677&start=0 KhristosAnesti is still awaiting Muslims answer to his question, quite frankly so am I. Maybe you can have someone in Turkey fax the answers. Just a thought. Ready and willing to discuss what is the Quran when you are. Nonetheless, an honest person would admit, contemporary English speakers would say tens of thousands or thousands to convey a sense of multitude and never ten thousands. Such language method is used throughout CEV to no effect on message. Along the same line had CEV used ten thousand, this would more or less specify an amount that is unspecified. However your argument about exclusions is of different nature, one which is self-serving. CEV and NIV translation of Deuteronomy 33:2, is sore spot for Muslims. After all, this is among their favorite Bible verse. Following is actual quote and example how Muslims read Deuteronomy 33:2 to their benefit. Notice how Muslims will corrupt the scriptures where it fits their agenda (my emphasis) Small wonder Muslims are upset the CEV does not include ten. Islam already had snowball chance in hell for Deut 33:2 ten thousands to be prophecy of Mohammed. What is even more pathetic and blasphemous, the verse reads LORD(YHWH) and Muslims are claiming this is Mohammed! istagfar allah joseph |
