In addition to the correction of the gladiators presupposed contradictions, there is my criticism of his use of Bart Ehram.
Ehram believes that prior to printing press and the modern era, all books were more or less corrupted due to a copiests intentional or unintentional editorial effects upon a text.
In other words a copyist copying an entire book like the Bible, was bound to make some editorial errors; he might leave out a few lines or a word or wrongly copy parts of the texts.
Ehram proposes that the earlier the copyists especially prior to the medieval age, the more errors.
Yet by qouted Ehram, how is Muslim gladiator gona escape the fact that Ehram's proposition would infect the Quran in a similar way, despite the effort of the copyiest to present a pure text.
According to Ehram, presenting a pure text at the time of the New Testament and the Koran would be impossible.
But then again by listening to Ehram, it needs to be pointed out that he leaves the judgement on the earliest texts upon the Christians themselves; in other words, it initially becomes a matter of mere faith.
If we are to be honest:
Since neither Christians nor the Muslims are able to present the earliets text of their holy books, we need to settle with a position that faith is inevitable.
