Christian/Muslim ThreadsScholar Bart Ehrman confess that the Bible we have is .... :: Re: I replied about this issue in another boardRe: I replied about this issue in another board
Okay, so lets look at your reply and how you like Catholicism has chosen to ignore the full context of what you quoted. MuslimGladiator wrote:Peace be upon who follows the right way,

Kai replies:
Where in the Bible does it even indicate that we drink the blood of God, could you please elaborate on this.

I reply,
No comment expcet that,
John 6:47-59 (New International Version)
{47I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. 48I am the bread of life. 49Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. 50But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. 51I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."
52Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
53Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." 59He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.}
Another evidence
1 Corinthians 11:23-30 (New International Version)
{23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
27Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.}
Can you see these verses, can you see {the body and blood of the Lord}?
I really wonder, who of us are in need to take the courses? Let us leave the Muslim and Christians People in this Forum to reply.
Thanks God, I am a Muslim
You did not finish what Jesus taught in John 6, so lets finish reading what the Lord said: John 6:60-71
60 Many therefore of His disciples, when they heard this said, "This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?" 61 But Jesus, conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, "Does this cause you to stumble? 62 "What then if you should behold the Son of Man ascending where He was before? 63 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. 64 "But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him. 65 And He was saying, "For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me, unless it has been granted him from the Father."
66 As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew, and were not walking with Him anymore. 67 Jesus said therefore to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, do you?" 68 Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. 69 "And we have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God." 70 Jesus answered them, "Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?" 71 Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him. NAS
The Lord's Supper, Communion, the Eucharist, or how ever Christians choose to label the sacrament instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ is not a meal of flesh and blood, it is a memorial of the Lord's death, a memorial that cannot violate God's law. Leviticus 3:17
17'It is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall not eat any fat or any blood.' " NAS
Acts 15:28-29
28 "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell. " NAS
What starts as bread and wine remains bread and wine and is not transformed into flesh and blood. In fact if you take the time to analyze the Greek in 1 Corinthians 11 Paul wrote it is the cup not the contents that symbolizes the New Covenant that is found in the blood of the Lord. The New Covenant is all people of all nations can find God's salvation through grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Grace precludes following a rigid set of laws that will not save anyone including Muslims who adhere to a book that denies the truth found in the Book that tells Christians and Jews who God and His Chosen one are and how God's becoming flesh benefits those who believe on the name of Him God anointed as King of Kings and Lord of Lords over His creation.
