You don't even believe in the name of Jesus how could I expect you to believe in any truth? Why do you even profess Christianity?
hisway wrote:Just as the sign of Spirit baptism is speaking in tongues so is water baptism in Jesus' name the sign of the circumcision made without hands. God has used signs throughout the Scriptures. In my study of the subject of the significance of the sign of "circumcision" in the O.T. and how that sign is applied to the N.T. I found it definitely corresponded to water baptism. Therefore, if the circumcision of the O.T. is a "type" that refers to water baptism in the N.T. then the significance of that "type" as it was in the O.T. must carry over in principle to the N.T. application. The O.T. circumcision served as the enrty point to participate in the Old Covenant as water baptism must also serve as an entry point into the New Covenant.
See the Problem here hisway?
You can rack your brain as much as you like, your only deceiving yourself!
What problem? As I said in my earlier post speaking in tongues is the
SIGN of Spirit baptism which is not the same as the
GIFT of Tongues which is accompanied by Interpretation. Like I said you cannot have the Gift of Tongues without the Interpretation and you cannot have the Gift of the Holy Ghost without the sign of speaking in tongues.
It is you who are deceived. You're so quick to respond to the "tongues" debate but sit back while your bosom buddy blasphemes the name of Jesus.
What do you not understand???
- 1). Paul mentions that Not all possess the GIFT OF TONGUES, then you proceed to say that the GIFT OF TONGUES is not a sign of Spirit Baptism.
- 2). Then you proceed to say that the sign of Spirit baptism is speaking in tongues, speaking in tongues as a SIGN or a GIFT?
- 3). Then you proceed to say that tongues(no interpretation) is the SIGN of Spirit baptism which is not the same as the GIFT of Tongues.
I have deduced that the sign of speaking in tongues is the SIGN of Spirit baptism.
hisway wrote: The sign of "speaking in tongues" is the evidence of the gift of the Holy Ghost. All believers must receive the gift of the Holy Ghost in order to be saved that is why Jesus listed the sign of Spirit baptism in Mark 16:17.
In order to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost one must be spirit baptized correct? So the sign of the tongues is the direct cause of Baptism in the Spirit. So according to you having the Holy Spirit and being baptized with it are not the same, If you state that it is, since according to you being BAPTIZED IN THE SPIRIT and you shall receive the GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. Now according to Paul, the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost does not distribute all gifts to all who
have the Holy Ghost, do you deny this? But according to you, there is a distinction from Spirit Baptism and the Gift of the Holy Ghost, with the same mouth you state that Baptism of the Spirit produces the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Re-read your posts on all threads!
So all who are spirit baptized speak with Tongues since spirit Baptism gives way to the presentation of the Holy Ghost! However you state that the GIFT OF TONGUES is not a sign of Spirit Baptism. Do you see the contradiction? Not only that, once again Paul clearly states that not all have the (gift) of tongues, but within your muddled doctrine of spirit baptism and gift of the Holy Ghost, all can speak in tongues and have the gift! Once again, you are in direct conflict with Paul.
God Bless!
