Paul ?
In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful
You are wrong again
He changed his name
From Saul To Paul
(Saul's Conversion)
Saul was a Pharisee who hated Jesus.
He despised His followers, too.
So, he plotted and planned, every chance that he had,
To destroy the disciples he knew.
While on the road to Damascus,
Where Saul learned His disciples had fled,
Saul saw a great light and heard Jesus' voice.
He could have sworn that Jesus was dead.
As Jesus was speaking with Saul,
Saul realized that he had been wrong
And that Jesus was the "Son Of God";
Reigning beside God, on His throne.
So, Saul begged Jesus' forgiveness
For disbelieving that He was God's Son.
And, he asked Jesus how he could make up
For all the wicked things he had done.
Now, Saul had been blinded by God's Holy light.
So, God forgave Saul and restored his eyesight.
Then, He told Saul what he wanted him to do;
To carry His gospel to the Gentiles and Jews.
Then, God changed his name from Saul to Paul,
who spread God's word from Rome's prison wall.
Paul was arrested, but still undeterred.
He wrote his letters to the churches,
still spreading God's word.

Saul was sorry for the things he had been doing. He began doing the things that Jesus wanted him to do. After his conversion, Saul's name was changed to Paul, and he spent the rest of his life serving Jesus and teaching people about him. He became a missionary to people all over the world. A missionary is a person who is sent by a church to teach about Christ.

The name Paul, of the apostle, whose original name was Saul has caused much discussion. Paul, a native of Tarsus, a city of Cilicia (Acts 21:39; 22:3), was of Jewish descent from the tribe of Benjamin (Philippians 3:5) and had knowledge of Greek. According to Ramsey (Paul the Traveler, p. 81) "it was the fashion for every Syrian, Cilician, and Cappadocian who prided himself on his Greek education and his knowledge of the Greek language to bear a Greek name; but at the same time he had his other name by which he was known by his countrymen in general." However, others, Christians, claim this was not the personal reason that Saul changed his name to Paul. The reason for the selection of Paul is that it comes from the Greek Paulos, meaning little, and when converting to Christianity Paul wished to be known as the "Little One" in the service of Christ.
