Christian/Muslim ThreadsChristianity: Man-Made Religion; Islam: Divine Principle. :: reply.reply. Abraham had TWO sons, Ishmael his firstborn from Hagar and Isaac his second born of Sarah. Now first and foremost what purpose does it serve for God to give Ishmael to Abraham as a son? Why not just reveal to Abraham that Sarah will be given a son at old age .... why wait till after Ishmael was born and loved by his father Abraham? Why was Ishmael circumsized? Why did God bless Ishmael and give to him twelve princes? Was Ishamel, the son of Abraham somehow connected to the later rebellion of the Jews? How was the everlasting covenant with Abraham's descendants supposed to last when the Jews broke the covenant? Its amazing how we have drifted from the institution of Christianity to why Muslims say that they believe in the same God as Abraham and his descendants. So to sort of bring us back to the topic, let me ask you a question. Where does the word "Christianity" come from? Who decided that this would be the name of Messianic Jews and Gentiles? The reason why your Bible does not elaborate on Abraham and Ishmael is because the Hebrew Tanach is concerned with the covenant given to Israel. The covenant was given to Israel the son of Isaac, so technically the Hebrew Tanach and the Torah would deal with Israel and his descendants and NOT Ishmael. Ishmael had nothing to do with the chosen people - the Israelites. However that does not mean that God didn't have a plan to use Ishmael and his descendants when the chosen people would rebel. The story of Abraham and Ishmael was not narrated in the Hebrew Scriptures because the law was for the Jews and Israelites and no one else. This is also why Jesus - the awaited Messiah of the Jews also said that "I am sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel". However were the blessings of God going to stay with the chosen ones of Israel? NO! “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” (Matthew 21:43) The kingdom of God was taken away from the Israelites and away from the Jews. But the covenant with Abraham which was everlasting was to be given to another NATION. What Nation? Genesis 17:20: And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. Thats what I am trying to prove to you that 'Christianity' and 'Christians' are man-made terms. Mohammed believed in Jesus, son of Mary! The most important factor which the followers of Jesus went astray on was making Jesus God. Now for a second consider that Jesus was NOT God, would that not be the absolute biggest reason to send another prophet? I think I have already explained how the Israelites broke the covenant and the kingdom of God, according to Jesus was to be given to ANOTHER NATION. Gentiles are not a nation. Then why send prophets at all? Why not just come on multiple occations. Why didn't God just come Himself and build the arc? Why didn't God face the Pharoah Himself? Why didn't God fight the giant galieth (spelling?) Himself. Why doesn't God visit us on earth more frequently? Answer me this. What does God want from us? What is the purpose of our existance? You may be able to understand Islam so much more when you answer these questions yourself. Absolutly wrong. Salvation in Islam is not based on works and deeds. Salvation in Islam is based on FAITH in God (arabic-iman) - Faith in His Mercy - and doing things which are in submission to Him. God accepts no work or deed unless it comes through faith. The works and deeds we do are for the sake of God because we have faith in Him.
If the will of God never changed then why did Jesus (God of Christianity) tell the Jews to kill vigerously and then all of a sudden change in the NT and say turn the other cheek? Why did Jesus (God of Christianity) say to the Jews to follow laws and in the NT say you don't need to follow laws and that its about faith in the symbolic event? I'm sorry to say but the killing and raping of pagans and sinners in the Bible is far more severe and extreme than what the Quran could ever be. So this guy was "inspired" by the spirit of God? There's a huge difference in God talking to Moses face to face and making a Covenant with Abraham face to face and making feel someone uplifted and spiritual. If the Spirit of God (the Holy Ghost or whatever) inspires you or uplifts you in church, does that mean you can write a book that should be considered holy? I only accept revelation to prophets .... i'm sorry .... |
