ArchivedHoly Crusades...I have the right to voice my opinion, as you said - however I do not foster (or attempt to foster) pornography on other people. I do not "force" people to view it that do not wish to, and I certainly don't attempt to allow pornography in places where it is not currently located. I think the rules for pornography are fair in that those that wish to view it can, and those that don't aren't being forced to. My view is that people should be able to make thier own decisions in such matters. Out of curiousity, what is your opinion of the harm in pornography? To say that the "potential" is there, couldn't that same argument be levied toward such things as religion, which in the "wrong" hands has likely caused more death and harm than any other opinion or act? I agree - the line has to be drawn somewhere. There are certain things which are *obviously* harmful and are against the law for that reason (drugs come to mind, although some drugs have been shown to be not nearly as harmful as the media has purported). Let's take LSD for example - there are facts that it is likely to cause harm in an individual taking it, and not just habitual users. Alcohol, on the other hand, which *can* also cause harm, does not do so in a majority of instances. What harm is there in pornography? I realize the harm that the Bible claims, however is there any evidence to support the claim that pornography is harmful for adults? |
