ArchivedHoly Crusades...So I guess we need to demolish the building the Supreme Court sits in since it displays Moses and the 10 Commandments: http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=2441 Moses with the Ten Commandments inside the Supreme Court's courtroom Now lets take a look at the 1st Amendment: Congress has not passed any laws that establish Christianity as the official religion of the United States, what is being disputed by the ACLU and atheists is the portrayal of a historic document, which is found in many U.S. Government buildings. What I find interesting is that those who support pornography appeal to the 1st Amendment to defeat laws passed by Congress and state legislators while at the same time denying the people's right to decorate a building with a time honored set of rules that were the very basis for the Pilgrims coming to America. Displaying the 10 Commandments is not a matter of law it is a matter of asthetics that honors our national heritage. I wonder why the ACLU and atheists have not gone on a campaign to remove all pagan symbols such as this from public buildings: A painting of the Roman goddess of war in the Senate side of the U.S. Capitol Can we assume Congress is establishing Greco/Roman mythology as the religion of the land based on painting of the Roman goddess of war? |
