Scolaí :I work in public schools. Nothing is said about the christians who congregate to pray before school - space is even provided for them to hold their meetings when it is too cold or rainy.
The goth students, on the other hand, are accosted mercilessly by the teachers and administration even though they do nothing more than attend school dressed in black clothes, fishnet stockings, and have differently-colored hair.
Try not to generalize. Thank you.
Here is your:
Bunk, baloney, and bull.
In October 1998, David and Diane Reiter of Denver were ordered by the city to stop their weekly prayer meetings in their home. They could only meet only once a month. Even though they are complying with all municipal regulations, a city administrator determined that he did not want any religious activities in their neighborhood. The Denver couple are presently appealing the decision in a federal court.
On April 2, In Seattle, Washington a twenty-five-year-old pregnant woman was kicked off a public transit bus in the pouring rain. What was her disruptive behavior? The bus driver overheard her talking with a fellow passenger about the Lord.
During the same month, the U.S. 5th District Court of Appeals ruled that clergy in Beaumont, Texas were no longer allowed on school property to answer students questions about religion, sex or abortion. But of course, propagators of the "safe sex" religion can still find an audience in Texas schools. Humanists can still tell a scarred, vulnerable teenage girl that the answer to her problems is abortion, but clergyman are no longer permitted to pray or offer council.
In May, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that students in Duval, County FL could no longer decide whether or not to have student-led prayers in their graduation ceremonies. According to Chief Justice Joseph Hatchett, a policy that allows prayer "coerces objecting students to participate in prayer."
In Texas, a first-grader was informed he could not mention Jesus during a class discussion on the origins of Christmas.
“After his chief, David Kunkle, said the cross might be ‘offensive’ to some people, Arlington, Texas, police officer George Daniels was fired for wearing a lapel pin symbolic of his religious convictions and is now suing the department for wrongful termination and violation of his constitutional rights.
“An Indiana state trooper was fired from his job when he wouldn’t work at a casino. Ben Endres was dismissed last month by his State Police supervisor after refusing to report for duty at the Blue Chip Casino on a riverboat on Lake Michigan. Troopers are assigned on a rotating basis as plain-clothes agents of the Gaming Commission.
A man burst into Wedgewood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, cursing God as he mowed down seven worshipping Christians. This massacre didn't even rate on the serious meter of the mainstream media as highly as John Rocker's preference for not associating with "foreign" looking people or the death of just one "gay" person. Lets see, according the the media, one homosodomite is worth more than a whole church of Christians? The FBI refuses to classify the massacre as a hate crime
Prosser (Wash.) High School freshman Andrea Lawyer was threatened with suspension if she didn't turn her T-shirt inside out in order to censor the message printed on it. The message was:
ABORTION IS HOMICIDE
You will not silence my message.
You will not mock my God.
You will stop killing my generation.
ROCK FOR LIFE
Thomas Altman, Ken Yackly and Kristen Larson were punished by the Minnesota Department of Corrections, in 1997, for reading their Bibles during a "Gays and Lesbians in the Workplace" indoctrination session. Other employees of the same Dept. reported in a 700 Club CBN report that they were ordered to remove family pictures of their children because homosodomites felt discriminated against because of their own choice to reject normal human sexuality and family life.
But noooo, Christians aren't persecuted.
He is Lord
