Follow-up question: When you say "half-truths," are you meaning to say that everything in the Bible is a half-truth therefore none of the Bible can be trusted at all? Or do you mean that about half (or so) of the Bible is false and cannot be trusted, but there are portions that are true and can be trusted? I disagree. Not all of the Torah is included in the OT, which is what I was trying to point out in my last post. The Torah includes commentaries that are not included in the OT, therefore it is incorrect to say that the Torah is a subset of the OT. Some of the Torah is in the OT, but not all of it.
I think that most fundamental Christians regard the KJV as the best English translation of the original Hebrew and Greek. Fair enough. You're right, that line of discussion would probably drag us way off topic, so I'll let it go. |
