Christian/Muslim ThreadsMuslim view of the BibleThanks for the clarification! Well, the RSV is hardly a popular Bible in conservative circles, and that's what we're looking at here. When the RSV was replaced by the NRSV in the early '90s, it had only about a 5% market share for Bibles, so it clearly wasn't popular, especially with conservative fundamentalists. The reason they thought there were many defects is because they were a committee of compromising liberals who were trying to please as many people as possible so they could make a quick buck. So with regards to my original question: what evidence is there that the KJV has been altered? My thoughts: Just because you may have an original copy of a piece of literature, doesn't mean that it is a divine book. I could care less if you can prove that your book is exactly as it was when it was written - that doesn't make it truth. Both of our books are the same as they were when they were written. Both of our books claim to be divine. Both of our books contradict something that is written in the other one. I claim my book has no internal contradictions - you disagree. You claim your book has no internal contradictions - I disagree. But as you have said, if we keep up this discussion we will go off topic, so I've given you my 2 cents for that portion of your post, and now we can get back to the discussion at hand. |
