Christian/Muslim ThreadsMuslim view of the BiblePeace 100%muslim, That is not acceptable to God, to say "well, that's not practical so I won't even try to love and forgive my foes" What makes you think God wants you to stop at a certain point? Many people have loved their enemies and have lived by what Christ has taught. Certainly many people are better than Muhammed who could not live up to what Christ taught. I am referring to 1000's of saints and martyrs of the Christian faith, including the Apostles and Paul who also loved His enemies and wanted to spread the Word to them peacefully. The point is that we are capable of loving our enemies, some of us don't want to even try.
NO revelation by a prophet is regressive from previous prophets. That's not how God works. God has already renewed his command for humans, that we act with love. That we forgive and do not just slaughter people beacuse they have issues (like adulteresses) or have different beliefs. God wants us to love Him above all things and love our neighbors likewise, do you disagree? God could not care how many times a day we pray of if we follow every little law. Those have no pull with God. How we are to others, now that is how God will judge us. The Gospels are the simplest yet most powerful revealed word that God has given us. It is FAR superior to the Quran which is meant, like the Torah, for the ancient world. Islam is not compatable with any form of modernity. The Gospels is meant for a world where people live under other governments and are subject to discrimination. It is based on a community of love and care for one another like the early Christian community. No Christian theocracy exists because the Gospel message isn't compatable with politics or power, things that corrupted Judaism and Islam. Don't tell me Islam isn't corrupted. It was since the time of Umar and Muhammed hismelf. |
