Not Convinced
You said it yourself! Jesus was an heretic. This proves that he did not exist, because how can a man be God and be an heretic at the same time!
As I said, Pythagoras, Euclid and Homer may not have existed. I can accept this fact. I can also accept the fact that Jesus did not exist.
Yes, I do refuse to accept the authenticity of the gospels. There is some debate as to when they were written, some argue that they were written up to 150 years after the supposed death of Jesus. Yet you quote dates near to the time of Jesus as if it were a fact. If the gospels were written 150 years after the time of Jesus, there is no way the authors could have known a man named Jesus who they claimed to write about. Also, you are right, the original gospels no longer exist. How do we know errors weren't made when they were copied? How do we know they weren't modified? The short answer is, we don't.
What about the persecution of those with pagan beliefs who refused to follow Christianity? Does the mere fact that people were persecuted for believing in something demonstrate that what they believed was true? No, it doesn't.
It is fairly easy to discount a person's non-existence when you refuse to accept any books or account that proves he did not exist. Try reading, "The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You To Read", or doing a Google search like someone else earlier in this forum suggested.
