Delphi wrote:Who said anything about "blind faith"???? You (Christians) are the ones who started talking about "blind faith". Please refer me to the point where I said that you have "blind faith". Ha! You can't!
I didn't say it was you who said "blind faith." And I was wrong in saying skeptics(meaning all) say this. But some do say it. I was referring to Greg when I mentioned that though.
Delphi wrote:"Historically, it is quite doubtful whether Christ ever existed at all, and if He did we do not know anything about Him."
You're right, this guy isn't sure whether Jesus existed or not. But that's fine, because he's not arguing one way or the other. All he's saying is that it's DOUBTFUL that Jesus existed, not that he did or didn't exist.
That quote came from a book named "Why I am not a Christian." I think it is safe to say he believes Jesus Christ did not exist.
Delphi wrote:Not everyone believes the gospels are true - even some Christians! If you bothered to read everything in that web site, you would realise this.
"... skeptics can only doubt the non-existence of Jesus..." I think you're getting a little bit confused ol' son. Think about it. If skeptics DOUBTED the NON-EXISTENCE of Jesus, they would have to believe in Jesus! I think what you meant to say was, "Skeptics can only SPECULATE the non-existence of Jesus."
Fair statement. In fact, it's an even better statement, because if you're speculating, then it is a conjecture--in other words, it is forming an opinion without sufficient evidence. This is what I am trying to show you are doing.
