Good Luck
Like I said, if it works for you, then that's great. If you need religion in order to live a meaningful life, then that's fine. But not everyone does. I used to be a Christian, so I think you and I are probably equally qualified to make personal judgements about the merits of Christianity. For me, it doesn't work. Sure, a lot of what is in the Bible is good stuff, loving others as you love yourself, not murdering, not stealing, not committing adultery, not lying, etc. but it's not necessary to be a Christian to follow these simple rules. Buddhism teaches people pretty much do the same ideas. So does Islam. So why prefer one religion over another? Why not be independent and make up your own mind about the world around you? Why not read a little bit of Buddhist philosophy, read the Koran, read the Bible, and make up your own mind about how you want to live your life? The Bible is not the word of God however it does contain important philosophical truths. After all, the Bible was written by wise men. Wise men tend to say cool stuff. But at the end of the day, they were just men.
