ArchivedThe Latter Rain of the Last Days: Now or Future?Well, I see that you feel that it is okay to denigrate others and then appeal to your sophomoric debating tactics as rebuttal. You have a track record of causing strife on other message boards that is not welcome here. You also have a track record of trying to isolate specific Scriptures to establish idiotic concepts that deny God's truth. Peter and the Jews understood the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on the gentiles as proof the gospel of Jesus Christ was for the whole world. However, you continue to insist that the pouring out of the Holy Spirit was for the benefit of the apostles and not the body of Christ, which is nothing more than your own cultish interpretation of Scripture. You posted on another thread that the Bible is to be taken literally unless the context indicates otherwise, but you insist on interpreting a literal understanding only when it suits your purpose. The literal understanding of Joel 2:28-32 in Peter's sermon was not to demonstrate that the apostles were empowered by the "baptism of the Spirit" but to explain why Galileans were speaking in languages they never learned. So the Spirit was poured out on the 120 so the gospel could be preached in every language used by the Jews of the diaspora. We don't need or want your kind on this message board. |
