ArchivedThe Quran - Is pre-ordained sin mans responsibility?Peace Alexai, Alexai, in my previous posts I discussed the holiness of God and that it's not just an attribute of God it's actually part of God Himself. Now, forget that Jesus was a man.. he was and had to be, but He was also God.. not just one part of God, or one of three gods or whatever else we might try to explain as the Godhead... Jesus is God!! As God He(Jesus) is Holiness itself. Through all eternity, God was in union with Himself. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit,( no matter how much we can't understand or explain it,) and nothing had come in between that union. Nothing could come in that union. To understand the cry in the garden, you have to look at the events on the cross itself. Alexai, please read each of the Gospel accounts of the Crucifixion. Each of them record Jesus's words ... My God, My God why have you forsaken me." this wasn't the cry of the human Jesus.. this was the cry of God the Son who took upon Himself every sin that ever had been, or ever would be committed. He who was without sin, became sin for us. He who didnot just act holy, but was holy, didn't just forgive our sins, or take our sins away.. He actually became that sin in His holy nature. For just a short period of time.. God the son and God the Father were in a position unequalled in eternity past, present or future. God the Father turned His back on God the Son. Notice what happened at that exact moment.. darkness came over the land Alexei no man could ever imagine what that pain was like. It is nothing like the pain you would experience going to the cross. that pain is human pain. The pain that God the Son experienced was a pain from beyond our comprehension. It was a pain of a divine nature. No, in the Garden He wasn't running away from what He knew was His mission. Infact, the Bible speaks constantly of Jesus setting his face to Jerusaleum knowing full well what waited for him there. Lady Fatima asked earlier if our sin hurts God's holiness. At this moment in time the reality was yes it did. God himself took every sin you and I have committed upon Himself and the ultimate result of sin is death. Death came into the world through sin, and only through the death of Jesus (the perfect God/man) could death be removed. His cry on the cross was after this three hours of darkness and separation It is finished. and Jesus gave up his spirit and died. Three days later He rose again.. He had foretold this would happen, so He knew in the Garden that when He died, it was not going to be death as you or I know it. He knew He had to die, and why He had to die. No, those words were the words of one who was to know a pain that none of us could even begin to describe. Did He want to not go through with it.. yes, maybe the human part of him did make that cry.. please father let this cup pass from me yet, this reaction was not because of the human pain and suffering he would endure, but the spiritual suffering. Please think and respond Alexei, and I'll answer your next question peace to you. |
