ArchivedIdolatry in ChristianityThere is a major gulf between having a picture of the Last Supper in your home and worshipping in a building filled with images of dead saints. There is a major difference between using the cross as a symbol and parading images through the streets showering them with gifts and praying to those the images represent. When Catholics celebrate feast days they are in effect serving those the images represent. Also Mary is not “our mother” in any sense of the word “mother”. Faith comes from God, as does our salvation. Scripture states Mary will be called blessed “among women” not “above” all mankind. |
