ArchivedIdolatry in ChristianityOk let me explain something here the church still teaches that there is no salvation outside of the church. Vatican II simply said that the more literal Interpretation of that was wrong. The church says that all salvation comes from the Catholic Church. Not that one must be physically in it to get that salvation. More over it does teach that the only excuse for not being physically in the church is Ignorance or circumstance. No we don't. We deny that without grace there is no salvation. We say that one is saved by Grace only. Grace we receive by someone’s faith in God but it is easier to receive the closer we are to Christ and his church. We think that Grace is given and it helps people live a holy life and that all those that don't Reject Christ (either by profession or Actions) will receive saving Grace at the end of their lives. However we also teach that God is a just God so that someone who by no fault of their own hasn't had Christianity explained to them or think something of Christianity that isn't true then they can be shown mercy because of their ignorance as long as they would accept the Truth had they known it. It says they can be saved not that they are. |
