Christian/Muslim ThreadsThe Main Questions AreSalams Joseph, Cosmologically one can figure out that something has to be eternal. It can be God, or it can be "matter." God created the universe and put the jinns and man in it. However, He didnt make a direct reference to Himself, that is, one cannot see Him and He does not speak to man directly. In other words, we do not observe Him with our senses. He acts behind a veil. And we are expected to find and obey Him through our minds and hearts. Mind is common in every human. It is an instrument. It is actually "heart" which defines our direction, and which makes the difference for that matter. So, atheists are not acting illogical in the strict sense of the word. Actually, man cannot live without rationalization. Yet, it is their spiritual condition and emotions which wipes out the God alternative for them, even though they do not accept the existence of (God and) spirit. To sum up, atheism is in a sense a "no God" religion, because they have hearts too. I would say Deism would not be applicable since it does not answer all the questions I ask. It is simpler than needed. Frankly, atheists use Occam's Razor principle and say "God" is an infinitely complex argument, so it cannot be used in explaining universe. But to me, using Occam's razor to judge between materialism and religion would not be apporpriate, since they are two different things. "God" is not the reason behind actions in the universe in the sense of cause-effect. He is actually the creator of both causes and effects. Universe runs in a course created by God. Further, religion does not set aside science, in contrast supports it, because each finding of science is a further step to read the Book of Universe that God has opened before us. So, Occam's razor might be applicable to science and intra-religion logic, but not between the two. I insist One God is the simplest and best alternative. Comparision between Deism and Islam can be made. But Deism is a personal belief, it cannot answer all the questions. In that regard what you expect from a religion is important. That requires free-minded analysis of religions, not blind acceptance. If you are someone like Whosurdaddy you would be afraid of interrogation. But then he should not expect any Muslim, Hindu etc. to intterrogate their own religion too. He simply states that he cannot go beyon status quo. What i had in mind before posting my previous msg was that i wrote more than the quote required. I was trying to supply background. Not every word I wrote was triggered directly by ur words. (This might be valid for this msg too) Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a nice day, Unite |
