Christian/Muslim ThreadsThe Main Questions AreHi Joseph, what is your belief/religion, if may i ask. Another thing is that you seem more interested in labelling people, than making your point about the issue. But i will answer your question. First of all, why i am here. I am tired of discussing with arrogant and rude atheists, and came here for friendly discussions. Secondly, I dont think I display a westernised version of Islam. Time changes, so understanding of Islam must change. You cant invite people, especially atheists, to Islam with the old arguments of kalam. As Rumi said "everthing said yesterday gone with yesterday. It is time to say newer things." Take "everthing should have a reason" argument for example. Even Gazzali says that this argument cannot be used to prove existence of God. Because existence of the Absolute Being cannot be proven using arguments that we cannot know that are absolute. What if that argument we derive by our mind is wrong. Common sense may tell that arguemtn is true, but is it really absolutely true. But beleievers here and there continue to use this argument. Because they cannot produce newer things. As for Christianity, I really dont think Christian theology will have any appeal on Muslims. The real threat is with atheism. Actually Christian missionaries should deal with the mess at home before staging missions to non-Christian lands. Do they have any appeal on their own people, on scientists in particular? Why science is used so widespread for atheist propaganda? What percent of scientists are Christian in the west? Now back to the quote you made from me. Burning bush was a manifesation of God, along with anything you see, you hear, you feel in the Universe. Some sufis say "la mavcuda illa Hu" (Only God Is, nothing else", some other sufis say "la mashuda illa Hu" (Only God is witnessed, nothing else). Now you can clearly see where my claim that burning bush is a manifestation of God comes from. The only difference that it is a miracle makes is maybe that God goes beyond usual rules of creation. (Maybe He does not. Maybe the miracle of the miracles is that veils of the eyes removed and everbody around can see it. And maybe unusual things continue to occur, and only equipped ones see them). Otherwise everything is a divine manifestation of God. Jesus pbuh is also a divine manifestation God, but not God. Unite |
