ArchivedDoes the Bible teach Scripture only?Aieno Wrote What did you expect? I am a Catholic! What sources are you quoting from? your own? I did indicate that both the good and wicked went to Purgatory. Before Christ died and ressurected all who died went to sheol. Because Jesus is "the first born of the dead". Know some will say, does sheol/Purgatory still exsist? Jesus says "I hold the keys to death and the netherworld [sheol/Purgatory]" Revelations 1:18 It doesnt say I held or used to hold, it says I hold, speaking in the present tense. Aieno Wrote as if by fire? where did you get this concept from? Lets look at the passage 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But let each man be careful how he builds upon it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. 14 If any man's work which he has built upon it remains, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire. NAS Nowhere above does it say "as if by fire", so where did you get that from? It says "If any man's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire" Aieno Wrote The Soul doesnt die. 1 Kings 17:21 "And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again." Aieno Wrote Did you know that some body's of some Saints have not currupted? A few body's of a few Saints look like they had died that very day, when infact they had been dead for 60 years. Amazing! Now concerning relics; Acts 19:11-12 - Paul's handkerchiefs healed the sick and those with unclean spirits. This is another example of physical things effecting physical and spiritual cures. This proves that relics of the saints have supernatural healing power, and this belief has been a part of Catholic tradition for 2,000 years. Aieno Wrote Scripture for this? I will be waiting. Aieno Wrote That is your opinion. I disagree. What interpretations do you use? self interpretations? Peace |
