ArchivedJudging & Testing God??Peace Alpha, The religion of Islam does not edit God’s word, but that it confirms it. The Qur’an is a natural progression of all the scriptures that was sent down before it. We in no way claim that the Qur’an is the first revelation from God. Allah says in the Qur’an: “And in their footsteps, We sent Jesus, the Son of Mary, confirming the Torah, that had come before him, and that We gave him the Gospel in which was guidance and light and the confirmation of the Torah that had come before it, and as guidance and an admonition for the pious.” (5:46). Allow me to stress this point; it was not God Almighty that had corrupted His revelation but that is was the handy work of men. The Injil and the Torah were only revelations intended for the Children of Israel, the Jews, and it was not meant for eternity but for a certain period of time. God never promised He would safe guard his revelation from corruption because it was God’s wills that He, out of His majesty, would send down another revelation confirming the previous one. However, for the Quran God promised that He will guard Hid final word from any tampering, as He said: “Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Quran and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)” (15:9) Also the original Injil which was given to Jesus (Peace be upon Him) is in God’s possession and so it has not been tampered with. Now when Allah sent down the Qur’an, He gave mankind a second chance and replaced the abused and tempered product with far SUPERIOR Book: the Final Revelation the Noble Qur’an. Allah in the Qur’an gives His reason why He revealed His final revelation: “And (remember) the Day when We shall raise up from every nation a witness against them from amongst themselves. And We shall bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these. And We have sent down you the Book ( The Qur’an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves ( to Allah as Muslims)” ( 16:89) Further more, the Injil and the Torah given to Jesus and Moses respectively, are not suited for our times because both revelations do not contain solutions for many of mankind’s problems. For example, in the Bible we are told that Jesus turned water into wine, but now we see the devastating effects of alcohol. If you ask Christians why they drink, they’ll tell you “if it’s good for Jesus then it’s good for us”. I read on a website that alcohol is the most widely used and socially cost drug abuse, responsible for much crime and violence and for more than 100,000 deaths each year. Alcohol related accidents are the leading killer of Americans 15 to 24, and alcohol is a major cause of birth defects. It is estimated that there are 10 to 15 million alcoholics or problem drinkers in the United States with as many as 4.5 million adolescents. http://www.drughelp.org/research/alcohol.htm So what is the solution that Christianity holds to combat such a problem? I want you tell me what your Holy Ghost told you? If you claim that the Bible is the final testament of God, it should contain all the solutions for all the problems we face. You talk to many “born again” Christians, and they will tell you they were once alcoholics, they used to marijuana, they were sodomites etc… And I really do congratulate these people. However, the system that stops people from entering into such a mess is the better system any day. Prevention is better than cure. Allah says in the Quran regarding Alcohol: “Satan wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from As-Salât (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?” (5:91) Our beloved Prophet also said: Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Allah's Messenger cursed ten people in connection with wine: the wine-presser, the one who has it pressed, the one who drinks it, the one who conveys it, the one to whom it is conveyed, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who benefits from the price paid for it, the one who buys it, and the one for whom it is bought. (Al-Timiridi and Ibn Majah). Well it’s quite simple really. Jesus had told his people that a Messenger was to come after him whose name will be Ahmed (another name for Muhammad), as stated in the Quran: "And remember Jesus the son of Mary said: "O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of God (sent) to you confirming the Torah (which came) before me and giving glad tidings of a messenger to come after me whose name shall be Ahmed." But when he came to them with Clear Signs they said "This is evident sorcery." (61:6) And all the Prophets (including Jesus) were supported with the Arch Angel, Gabriel. They were all given revelations, and Jesus would have known and told his people that this Ahmed, would bring with him a revelation from God, and from my point of view this is how the prophecy came together. These people were Jews, and they would have never accepted Muhammad because he wasn’t a Jew, and the first non-Jewish prophet that they had to obey. So what did they do? They made a prophecy, which they already knew was going to happen, to deter people (such as you Alpha) from the straight path. You can disagree with me, but this is my take on the subject. Furthermore, God highlights this point, of doubting the validity of the Quran, when He says: “This Qur’an is not such as to be forged by (any one) but (it is a revelation from) God, but it is a confirmation of (the Scriptures) that went before it and (the clearest) explanation of the Book, wherein is no doubt, from the Lord of all being. Or do they say, ‘He (Muhammad) has forged it?’ Say you: ‘Bring you then a chapter like it and call on (to your aid) whomsoever you can, apart from God (because He has sent it down), if you are truthful.”(10:37-38 ) And Allah knows best!
