ArchivedJudging & Testing God??Peace ma Lady, There is no proof whatsoever that confirms the Qu'ran to be a "natural progression" of the previous scriptures. The Book of Mormon also claims that it is a progression of the gospels and that each human being can be a God, but where is its proof? Just because the Qu'ran makes such claims(to be a revelation of God after Christ), does not mean it is true. Maybe Muslims should go argue with Mormons before they come to Bible believing Christians. It makes more sense when you think about it. They both claim their books to be revelations from God after Jesus' time on earth. If there is no trace of the uncorrupted Torah and gospels, then how do we know that the Qu'ran is truly a revelation of God? I mean, you Muslims do use the "corrupted" Bible to verify the Qu'ran don't you? You claim it makes prophecies of Mohammed. If you're going to claim that only SOME parts of the Bible are corrupt, then that's bogus because you're only basing that on your own interpretation........that is, whatever it takes to make the Qu'ran look like the word of God. Also, where is your proof that the original gospels were not for the Gentiles but only for the Jews? With the original Torah "missing" you cannot make that argument, because you do not know where the original Torah is. And if it is with God then how are we suppose to know what the truth is as human beings when God is withholding the truth from us?! It will be nice to have proof of this. But seeing how God has the "original" injil, I guess we will never know the truth. Firstly, there are many Christians that are still babes when it comes to the knowledge of Jesus Christ (I myself still have much to learn). So do not blame their ignorance on the account of the gospels themselves. The things of this world are not evil. It is only when mankind decides to abuse it, then it becomes evil. In Romans 14:21, it implies that a Christian should not drink if it will become a stumbling block for someone else. And there are many passages in scripture which condemns drinking to get drunk. A few being Proverbs 23:29-33, Proverbs 20:1, Luke 21:34(this is Jesus Himself condemning drunkenness). Proverbs 25:27 implies that too much HONEY is not good. Also, the Bible teaches that even if food causes your brother to stumble, then you should not eat at all!.......We're talking Food! And you're telling me that the Bible does not teach you about many of life's problems? I beg to differ ma Lady. Also, to say that Jesus drank alcohol is debatable(I'm not saying that it is false). For all we know the water He turned into wine can be unfermented wine; for Mark 14:25 mentions Jesus and His desciples drinking the "fruit of the vine" during the Last Supper, which can be considered unfermented grape juice. The Holy Ghost reveals things to me through scripture. And scripture says it is foolish to get drunk. Scripture also says that if someone else(especially a fellow Christian) is going to fall because of the actions I do, then I should not be involved in that certain action- atleast not when the other person is around. Also, Alcohol today is responsible for a large percent of the death population. In Jesus' time, this might not be the case. This is a hard saying. Prevention is better than cure, but try applying that idea to sin in general and you will see that you, me, and every human being are victims that failed prevention and need a cure. There is nothing new that your Qu'ran says. Most of what your Qu'ran says, the Bible said it first. Your Qu'ran says alcohol is bad and my Bible says the samething. But my Bible said it before your Qu'ran. So am I suppose to give you a standing applause for giving me passages in the Qu'ran which say alcohol is bad? |
