Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesThe Bible Defines, What Sin is...Aineo Wrote First off I teach the Word of God through the power of the Cross and salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Is not your own transformation from a gay lifestyle to one that shows the redemptive work of Jesus Christ in you the "works" of your salvation? I think so unless you take credit for that yourself. What is the purpose of being "saved" if one continues to live in their sins? Saved from what? Aineo Wrote Without the spirit there is no life period and that is witnessed through James and the same verse applies to the works of salvation. Man is a spirit aka "in the image of God" Man just happens to abide in a body but man is a spirit and that knowledge is necessary for higher understanding. James 2: 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. When Peter got the revelation that all food was clean he received the understanding that the dietary laws were meant for spiritual food (understanding the scriptures) and not physical food. We can go here at another time but first lets stick with the Law of Sin. BTW Gods Word does not change and his laws will be fulfilled every dot and tittle (According to Jesus) We are talking two different laws. The law of sin that Paul found to live in his members is not the law that was given to Moses. The law given to Moses was a "righteous law" and not hardly the law of sin. The law of sin is the domain of Satan and you were born under it. When Christ came into your life you were given access to the law of life through Jesus Christ. The spirit is life and the life is in the blood Lev.17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul The blood of your natural birth contained the fallen spirit of Adam but through the grace of God and the Blood of Jesus you have been given life through His Blood and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is being "born again" of the spirit and not the flesh. This is also witnessed in the birth of Jesus as He was given life from above and not from fallen man As far as the "rocket analogy" it holds true, Any time you separate yourself from the power of His Spirit you will fall back to earth (your flesh) Peace and Blessings Doug |
