Trinity DebateThe importance of PurgatoryAgain, I gave verses that do support purgatory, I explained them for you. If you understand what I'm syaing then no, this isn't an unchristian belief. It doesn't negate from Jesus Christ and what He did for us. Catholics carried the cross of Christ for two millenia, a Catholic directed the Passion. We're not unchristian. Purgatory isn't unchristian. I find it strange you don't want to listen to me or learn more about this belief. Why are you even here in this thread? Again, I gave what I believe these verses mean and have commented on rebuttals and things. I have nothing to hide. Not everyone goes to Purgatory, Aineo. Lazarus lived a very humble sinless life, what does he have to do penance for? Also, we don't follow the course of Lazarus's journey to Jesus after death or anything like that. The parable was designed more to warn us not to be selfish then to serve as a Dante's Inferno. If you can live a sinless life and do penance then you can in a sense keep the soul clean. This takes alot of hard work, though. Jesus never intended things should be easy. Christianity isn't some easy religion. Don't just take the Faith for granted that Jesus saved us and it's all good and don't work to help make up for the damage and prevent more, what do you really honestly expect will happen after death?? In some way or another, whether in this world or the next, most of us will need to be refined and purged. No one enters Heaven with a grey soul. |
