Trinity DebateThe importance of PurgatoryLike gold is tested in fire...our soul is gold. Works are tied to the soul that works them. Purgatory saves many people from going to hell, so I see the opposite effect of bringing hope to the masses. There are verses that support purgatory, but they're in Wisdom and Maccabees. What Jesus did for us on the cross enables us to enter Heaven. He took upon His back the yoke of our sin on our soul. But if you do something wrong and you're forgiven and it's not going to be your damnation, justice is still demanded from the sins we do. We'll be purged before we go to Heaven for venial faults that grey our souls. If we were perfect right now and could enter God's Kingdom directly, we would be acting like saints and flawless. We are capable of this, with no doubt because of Jesus, but our souls are still grey with sin. Some alot more than others. The evil even from our past still demands it's own justice. All I said was we can't enter the Kingdom of God where the Father Hismelf dwells if we are grey with sisn we've committed. We're all grey, read my response to Aineo. On earth, God is with us in Spirit as He is guiding sinful people to Jesus. But we're on earth. Impure things can exist on earth, but not in Heaven. I have no doubts about the Trinity, unlike Aineo here who rejects it. What about the other things I've said about purgatory, guys? About people who commit suicide or are part of other religions and never really got the chance to hear about Christ? |
