ArchivedNIV Version changes day star to morning star! What is very revealing about your remarks is you denigrate the Protestant Reformers who translated the Geneva Bible. Most KJ advocates also believe in OSAS, which come start from Calvin who was instrumental in translating the Geneva Bible. Isn't it a bit hypocritical to accept Calvin is right with OSAS and wrong with the Geneva Bible? Another interesting aspect is by denigrating modern scholars you are sitting in judgment on men who are also dedicated Christians and filled with the Holy Spirit. There is no way Jesus could be crucified on Friday and His prophecy be true. Count the days and nights for yourself. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night is 3 nights. Thursday (the 1st Sabbath of Unleavened Bread), Friday, and Saturday days makes 3 days. Jesus arose Saturday night after sundown, which is the first day of the week in accordance with how Jews count days. So there were in fact 2 Sabbaths between the crucifixion and the resurrection, the first Sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the regular weekly Sabbath. As to Erasmus I would expect a KJ only advocate to ignore historical facts. I have read articles on both sides and found that only those who reveal real history are sharing the truth. If you prefer the KJ translation that is great and I will support your right to do so; but to denigrate other translations based on nothing more convincing than bias is nothing but extremist bigotry and prejudice. Even using the TR the KJ translators interpreted God's revealed truth incorrectly. |
