That is your opinion. Although I do not depend on the NIV I do find it easeir to read because it is in come cases a better translation than mos others. What KJ proponants have not been able to prove is that the verses not found in the NIV and other translations based on the majority text were added by scribes and should not even be in the Bible.
Matthew 5:22
22 "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever shall say to his brother, 'Raca,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever shall say, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
NAS
Matthew 5:22
22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.
(from New International Version)
Matthew 5:22
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. KJV
"Without a cause" is not found in the original Greek.

How many other teachings of Christ have been weakened by the King James translators? Even their choice of "council" for "sunedrion" does not convey an accurate description of who will judge those who are angry with their brother.
The NIV may not be the best translation available to us today but neither is the KJV.
