Homosexual Discussion ForumBisexualityI wrote: kraez1 responded: Greetings kraez1, As Aineo will tell you, I go by personal observation first and "evidence" a distant second. So when I doled out my four categories, I gave them out because I have seen these things with my own two eyes. I don't need to quote someone's biased research to make a point based on personal observation. If you would like to argue that you and a few of your friends are gay without falling into any of my categories, that is fine. Even then, your choice is just another symptom of a decadent society. Our rich western culture offers us an abundance of choices in life, not all of them good ones. You can have almost anything you want in this country, as long as you pay your taxes and feign patriotism during wartime. If you truly enjoy your "lifestyle choice", who is anyone in America to stop you? Yet, from looking at the lives of gay people who I know their lives are almost always associated with a fair amount of emotional instability and illness. I hope you haven't had any problems with either of these. Nonetheless, I do NOT share the widespread conviction that Christians should work through political channels to stop homosexuality by making it illegal. Why would someone want to frustrate themselves with such a foolish waste of time? Democratic government is a short-sighted, pragmatic entity. Whatever contributes to the apparent economic well-being of the country is all that matters to such a government. Barring a major world war, homosexuality will soon be completely legal in the United States. Since Christians believe that, by itself, good can come overcome evil, why expect the law do something Christians can't? Christians no longer seem to care much about adultery, I don't understand why they should care so much about homosexuality. But, personally, I find homosexuality highly unnatural and unhealthy. Why God, or even nature, would intentionally create someone to be homosexual is beyond me. So I choose to believe that which is in line with most of what I see, homosexuality seems to be a clear product of "nurture" and not "nature". I also like to give a little weight to God's prophets who seemed to have a problem with it as well. Yet, I can't stand it when someone tells me that they know what I am thinking and that I am not thinking what I am really thinking but what they think I am thinking. It's irritating isn't it? If that's truly the case with you and you have to put up with people like me, or worse, I feel sorry for you, I really do. Forgive me if I have offended. Peace, Peace2God'sPeople |
