Christian/Muslim ThreadsNo Proof Quran Copied from Bible, Gnostic or Jewish Sources
You are mistaken if you believe that Muhammad did not come into contact with the Bible.
This Hadith proves that Muhammad was familiar with some of the contents of the Torah. He would also have been familiar with some of the contents of the Gospels and Apocryphal writings since he lived in the vicinity of the very people who used those scriptures. This doesn't prove plagerism, but it does show that the opportunity was there. We can't prove that Muhammad plagerised, it might be a logical deduction that he plagerised, but a logical deduction would also deny the possibility of Revelation. The best we can say is that the sources were available for Muhammad to obtain his ideas from. The thing that makes me suspicious is that the Qur'an contains ideas similar to those from Apocryphal writings, and denies some of the ideas found in the Authentic Canonical writings. . |
