Please understand: In debate forums, Ross has determined that the intent is to attack, and not "discuss" in an attidude of Christian cooperation. He is willing to debate scientists, theologians, or skeptics in front of panels of "experts" and Christian leaders, but not the public, as he feels public debates in front of secular audiences leads to the appearence of division, and is not edifying for Christ.
He is willing to debate these subjects in front of academically sophisticated panels, and has offered to do so on a number of occasions. He has offered to open the panels up to "hours" of cross questions, and as such is not at all shying away from the issues. However, Ross is not at all 'confrontational" and feels that being that way, especially for non-belivers to see, is detrimental to evangelism.
I feel this is wise and very "Christianly estute". I hope you agree
Also, understand the fellowship training and post doctoral work Ross did was in Quasars, and done in conjuction with the physics and astronomy department of Cal Tech. He is preeminantly qualified to discuss physics as well as astronomy, and has been so hailed by many scientists in the field.
You may want to review the number of Theological AllStars that endorse Ross and his theological perspective.
They include the likes of Dr. Gleason Archer, Dr. Norman Geisler, Dr. Dallas Willard. Alll of these gentleman are highly regarded theologians in conservative circles, and I doubt they would support someone with "Word of Faith" theological tendencies.
