Archivedbad theology of Dr Ross.Aineo said: Dear Sir, I have not asked you to apologize for your opinions, or your "taking Jesus at His word", (even if you have misunderstood His word). The ad hominem nature of your attacks were well spelled out in my prior post, and it is for that that you owe an apology, to God and Ross, not me. To God for your pride, and to Ross for judging him. You have questioned Ross's motives, and his character, and there is no way around the fact that you have done exactly that. Misrepresenting his ideas is not something I accused you of, so you are definately avoiding responsibility for your attitude based on a strawman argument. Deal with the issues I laid out regarding your ad hominem attack, don't bring in things I did not say. Aineo said: How does this commentary negate the others explanation of the syntax of the sentence structure? You lost me here. Repetition could mean many things. It seems like you have used it to prove YOUR point, yet you accuse this author, and Ross of doing what you are guilty of. Aineo said: I dont' know if time will be relavent in the new creation. I think your logic here hurts your case. By admitting the 7th day is a long period of time, you have clearly damaged any logical attempt you have to assert the others are 24hrs. Aineo said: Well Aineo this is interesting, and no offense, but it shows that you really have not looked at all of the science. Certainly from a worldview of "naturalism" evolution is "logical". That is not the point. You can come up with a logical theory based on circumstancial evidence, but with further investigation you either gather support for the hypothesis, or evidence against it. The fact is that there is far more (in my opinion) evidence against evolution, than for it, regardless of whether the earth is old or young. The length of time the universe has been here or the earth was formed has NOTHING to do with the logic of evolution. In fact, you YEC's believe in WAY more evolution than I do. I don't think that even liberal atheistic secular evolutionary biologists believe that the diversification of species we see now, could have emerged in 4K years or so since the flood. That is the MOST illogical of all. I would add that this argument that you offer is a real insight into the true, deep, and basic reason that an OE is so repugnant to some Christians. They think just as you have written: an OE means evolution is possible. This is fallacious, and is the root of this whole issue. |
