Aineo
Aineo Im not using one verse out of context to discuss Jesus' message Im interested in all he says. If "real, conservative christianity" is the idea that the opinions of later church leaders and the old laws that he fought against is more important than Christ's overall message than I will always oppose it.
Read the Gospels and you will discover that what you deride as new age mumbo jumbo is nothing more than actual faith in the word of Christ and not the church authority he rebelled against.
Here is just a sample of christ's message since that is very fitting since you are fond of quoting Christ saying that love of him means obeying his comandments and you want people to believe that homosexuality is included in those commandments:
" 'If you wish to enter into life keep the commadments' He asked him (christ) which ones. And Jesus replied 'you shall not kill, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and mother. you shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Mathew 19:17
Here it is. these are CHRIST'S (not pauls not the Popes) commandemnts. sorry but an order against homosexuality isnt here. Call me a heretic because I value the word of Jesus over the word of the church establishment. Oh and Aineo you can try to make adultery synomymous with a commited gay relationship all you want. I know any semi-logical person will see through it.
About not signing up for this site I have no problem exposing myself to the "Christian" wackos who inflict violence against "fag enablers" but I live with my family and I have no intention of exposing them for the most utterly trivial of reasons. So I can get a special crucifix ranking that tells me what level of Christian I am. This is just repulsive to be blunt.
The reason that I am here though and not talking to people who might already agree with me is becasue I believe people can change. I believe that if they really want to they can discover Christs real and powerful message. That they can clean it off from the reactionary preacing that turns so many away from it and gives theological ammunitition to the reverend phelps and his kind.
