ArchivedMistakes, and imperfections in the QuranThe only verse in Quran that relates Mary as God is… 5:116 And behold! God will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. First, does it say trinity is consisting of God the Father, the Son and Mary??? No, it does not! So, none of us can say that Allah is referring to the so called ‘true’ trinity concept. Second, as you posted above, some of the Christians (or some people that also claimed to be Christians) really worship Mary… so nothing wrong with the verse, because as far as Allah is concern none of the trinity concepts is true. Third, for your knowledge, the following verses are the verses with regard to the so called ‘true’ trinity in fact it mentioned the word trinity and none of them say that Mary is one of the three in one. 4:171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for God is one God: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs. The surah explained further the real concept of trinity by continuing the above verse with: 4:172 Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship God, nor do the angels, those nearest (to God): those who disdain His worship and are arrogant,-He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer). Referring to the above 2 verses in 4:171 Allah told us that there is no such thing as trinity because (in 4:172) both Christ and angel (which is referring to the Holy Spirit) are not more than His creations to serve and worship Allah. So this is the trinity that you people talked about. Another verse that mentioned the word trinity and no Mary in it: 5:73 They do blaspheme who say: God is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. Before that in 5:72 Allah informed us in the same surah that Christ is not God and there is no such thing as Christ is God or God is Christ (just like the three in one concept). 5:72 They do blaspheme who say: "God is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with God,- God will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. Some Christians even say that Holy Spirit is female to relate trinity with God family – the Father, the Mother and the Son. 53:27 Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names. 43:19 And they make the angels who themselves are slaves to the Most Beneficent (Allâh) females. Did they witness their creation? Their evidence will be recorded, and they will be questioned! Congratulation You only read two sentences of the Quran and derived to a conclusion. There are so many verses saying that Allah has no son and wife. 112:3 He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; 43:81 Say: "If (God) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship." 10:68 They say: "God hath begotten a son!" - Glory be to Him! He is self-sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No warrant have ye for this! say ye about God what ye know not? And in 39:4, 39:4 Had God wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He doth create: but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.) He is God, the One, the Irresistible. Meaning, IF He wanted to have a son, surely He can because He is the God. A God can do whatever He wants but the point is He does not and will not have any child as explained and promised in 112:3 In another verse: 6:100 Yet they make the Jinns equals with God, though God did create the Jinns; and they falsely, having no knowledge, attribute to Him sons and daughters. Praise and glory be to Him! (for He is) above what they attribute to Him! As you can see in 6:100 there were people who attributed to Him sons and daughters, so Allah explained logically in comparison with human way of reproduction in 6:101, 6:101 To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things. So, still Allah explained He is one, no wife and son like it was explained in another verses such as: 72:3 And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son. Still confused whether He can have a child? The answer is just simply, God can do whatever He wants because He is God but having a child or wife is just not Him because it is not in any of the attributes of God. |
