Rome, for a man who appeals to tradition upon which to base your faith, to ignore the fact that Jesus was a Jew teaching Jews and using Jewish idioms to make His points is odd. "What you bind and release" is a Jewish idiom that does not mean Jesus was giving the Apostles authority to forgive sins. Now I can tell you what it means but you won't accept it as no Catholic will believe anything not found in Catholic apologetics, but you can do some research on your own and discover the truth.
So far all you have done is appeal to Catholic tradition to establish Catholic tradition. This is a circular self-validating argument with no basis in facts.
When the United States Government does something viewed as unilateral based on its own the word condemns us for using our self-validating information, but now you are doing the same thing and asking us to accept something as true when neither you nor the Catholic Church can prove your traditions are anything other than the "traditions of men".
Colossians 2:8-12
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. NAS
1 Peter 1:17-19
17 And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay upon earth; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited (traditions[ from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. NAS
I know you can quote at least Scripture where Paul approves “tradition”. But since the Catholic Church maintains your traditions came from the Apostles the Catholic Church has the burden of proof to prove your traditions came from the Apostles. So prove it, which requires documentation from some other source than Catholic Church councils to include independent documentation from other sources.
