Archivedsome of you people just do not get it :: Re: some of you people just do not get itAlthough I agree that a homosexual orientation is not chosen, I do disagree that it is genetic and therefore inborn, and innate. Would you care to site some sources on why you believe homosexuality is genetic? And by the way, don't waste server space referencing Dean Hamer, or Simon Levay, their studies and research have been discounted by secular geneticists and neuroanatomists. I agree that some men and woman may have to deal with sexual orientation issues as the result of hormone imbalances or in plain English have a birth defect, however, unlike the other birth defects you listed homosexuals can with the help of the Holy Spirit live fulfilled celibate lives. Engaging in a sexual relationship is a choice. Let me give you a little history. I am 60, saved at age 10 in a PCUSA church, lived the gay lifestyle for 25 years and have been totally free for over a decade. I was never taught Biblical truth in my many years as a Presbyterian. Here is one reason: This is a quote from the PCUSA official website on the authority of Scripture not the inerrancy of Scripture. So lets answer these questions. Was Jesus only sent to the lost sheep of Israel? Yes, His earthly ministry in the flesh was to God’s chosen people. It was after His crucifixion and resurrection that He instructed the apostles to go into the world and make disciples (Matthew 28:19). Will all liars end up in the Lake of Fire? Ignore this warning in Rev 21:8 and you will find out. There is no empirical way to prove or disprove this eschatology, so this is a mute question based on philosophy not the authority of Scripture. Does the Lord heal all our diseases? This is a rhetorical question that can only be answered if you ask Him to heal you with ongoing fervent prayer. Modern Christians have become so enamored of science they have put God on the back burner. According to James when we are sick we should call the elders and pray. People who deny the inerrancy of Scripture are not going to follow the Bible’s advice. And by the way the PCUSA criticizes people for using proof texts and has done the same thing on their official website. I have never seen a healing service in a Presbyterian USA church, but I have seen God heal disease. BTW, you have to believe before you get and you have to ask before He answers. The PCUSA has moved so far left in the last 100 years the PCA split from them in 1976. And I believe this is why you are PCUSA. They accept homosexuality as a viable alternate lifestyle or assume that “love” covers all. A bad assumption! If you really feel your sexual orientation is innate, immutable, and therefore unchangeable may I suggest you check out this website and fellowship with others who believe they cannot change their sexuality but still believe homosexuality is a sin:God’s Love – Our Witness |
