Archivedsome of you people just do not get itThis is another passage used to show a sexual relationship between David and Jonathan. Gay theology perverts this by stating “exceeded” means David “climaxed”. What does the Hebrew word translated “exceeded” mean? This passage simply states that David wept more than Jonathan. Now kissing in Semitic cultures does not mean “an upper persuasion for a lower invasion”. I believe even a Western male who is in constant control of his emotions can understand this passage with ease. David was about to leave his family, his best friend, and run for his life. He was giving up everything because a man he had loyally served was out to kill him. Extreme stress can reduce even a stoic man to tears. “Real men don’t cry” is about as stupid a statement I have ever heard in my life. Jonathan was David’s mentor, counselor, guide, friend, and brother-in-law, they shared victories, defeats, stories around campfires (a little literary license ) and these men faced the possibility they would never see each other again, at least in this life. Even your Ph.D.’s in psychology or psychiatry can explain this to you. Now, David’s eulogy for Jonathan is nothing more than an expression of this relationship. David had multiple wives and the intimate relationship he had with Jonathan was of greater value than sexual pleasure. Intimacy, true intimacy so surpasses the physical pleasure of sex I find it difficult to express it, I see David using the only analogy that people can understand. And again, your Ph.D.’s should be able to explain this to you. If they can’t they have no business being psychologists and psychiatrists. I pity gay men who need to reduce male intimacy to mere sex. It demeans us as men and demonstrates that homosexuality is based as much on sex as emotion. I wonder, do you accept the heresy that Jesus was gay because of His intimate relationships with His disciples? This is the foundation used by some in gay theology and is the basis for the thesis published by an Australian man earlier this year. |
