Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesRomans 14I was asked to do this thread. I have nothing againt Paul nor his books. When have I ever said I did. I am not questioning them at all, but rather talking about what is said. I don't question Paul or any of the apostles. If you are referring to having an open mind, then you would acknowledge that I did not comment on what is the overall message but on the verses and their content. My point is that, Paul is speaking about one brother judging another in what is eaten (herbs only or herbs and meat) and esteeming a day. For me to add something else to his discussion is not using common sense, but adding to the content. I am not saying you should take a parable literally. Paul is not speaking in parabolic langauge. Thou shalt not kill should be taken literally. Likewise if he says one eateth herbs, that is also taken literally. Also, if I were to take it to mean not to judge period (adding to the context Paul is using), then I would have to say it is contrary to other scriptures because others tell us to judge not according to appearance, to rebuke (how can you rebuke unless you first judge?), etc. So it is common sense that Paul is not talking about judge nothing at all. For he who is spiritual judges all things, but is judged by no one correctly. I am not questioning God's word. Only what people have incorrectly interpreted it to mean. If you have not realized that my problem is with the interpretation given it and not the book itself, you may want to consider being a little more "open-minded" about what I'm saying. Love Always, |
