Christian/Muslim ThreadsScientif errors in the Koran: Shooting stars and the devilsMusti, These verses are ones in the spot light of criticism. Other than who ever made this translation we are comprehending another persons understanding of Arabic verses. Are these verses any different from what we read in teh Arabic ? Lets find out. We decided to fill in the rest of 37:6-9 as Kai's quote only had 6-8. We found that 67:5 was translated wrong. The translation Kai used or whomever he got it from translated " wa ja'alnaa-haa " as " and we have made such (Lamps as) missiles " whereas the text says " wa (and) ja'al (made) naa (We) haa (it) " The pronoun "haa" is feminine singular is refering back to the femine singular noun "assamaa'a (the firmament or heaven)" " Missles " is translated from the Arabic word "rujoom" which is the plural of "rajm" that means stoning. If you wish you can google the word "rajm" it is the term used for stoning adulterers in Islam and Judaism. In 67:5 the firmament is being spoken about that is a stoning for the devils {refering to either men or jinns) not the stars. In 37:6 the same mistake is made, the singular feminine " Hifdzh ( a guard ) is refering to the firmament singular and not the stars plural . Now as for verse 37:9 the arabic words " shihaabun thaaqib ie a piercing flame " is ambigious it could either denote a shooting star ie a meteorite etc or some sort of burning light. Now Kai did you ever think about these two verses that was presented ? and indeed we have already decorated the lower ( or nearer) firmament with Lamps and we made IT as a stoning for the Devils and We have prepared The flaming fire of torment for them 67:5 The stars are called lamps, and what is the sun called in the Quran also distinguished from the moon ? Did you notice how Allah created seven heavens as layers ? And He made the Moon as an illumination in them and He made the Sun a Lamp 71:16 So what does this make the Sun ? Yup a Star as the Quran inferes to it as which is one of the lamps that Allah decorated the lower heaven with. And you will see where you have errored cause you dont follow what Allah says and what the messenger also said in hadeeth. Allah says the Quran is a musaddiqallima baiyna yadayhi a truth verifier/authenticator for whatever is at hand. And the messenger said in hadeeth that if anything that is written about him that contradicts the Quran to throw it away it is not a thing he said. Your whole reasoning is build on this. Now please allow us to crumble it as you have forgotten the words of Allah in place of the hadeeth that has not been verified by Quran.
One of the Jinns went ot Yemen and back with a throne that was said took 20 men to left in a twinkle of an eye. That my brother is faster than any meteorite can travel. As mention before shihaabun thaaqib ie a piercing flame is ambigious which according to what we have presented could not be refering to meteorites but some other type of piercing bright flame of light that is fast enough to catch a Jinn. This is understood by us to refer to rays of the sun or other suns ie stars that are deadly out side the earth's atmosphere. The Jinns where created from fire that can be killed by fire just as man was created from mud that can be killed my mud. The meteorites indeed will keep man back, but there is another type of weapon, the rays of the stars in space to keep the Jinn back and that can also be harmful to man and whatever device he contructs to protect him from them.
