Christian/Muslim ThreadsIslamic Perspectives of The Death & Return of JesusLiberate, Any evidence? What more evidence do you want than I say the belief is essentially non-existent in Iran with a population of 70 million and I grew up in Iran. Additionally it is not a uniform or even a common belief among the several countries in the Middle East that I have traveled to. And yes, there is no name for a "sect." This is not a "required" belief even for the Muslims who believe in it. Evidently it is not a worthy enough belief to cause formation of sects based on this idea despite the fact that Muslims certainly have had a tendency to divide into sects but evidently not quite as badly as Christians. You may be influenced by the situation in Christianity. There are thousands of sects in Christianity some bitterly divided over differences that are simply too small. No two people in the world agree. It is not necessary to denounce and disassociate with everyone who disagrees with you. You may look into the Jewish people these days for a more worthy example for Christians to follow on this particular issue, true also for Muslims. If you are referring to me, I did not have any comment in bold, even so it does not give the false impression as you asserted. No, I do not belong to a sect. I certainly have many differences in my belief with many Muslims. But that does not mean that I disassociate with them or otherwise blindly follow all the beliefs of a particular group. The question really is why are you so sensitive to this issue? What is the big deal one way or another? It is not as if the Christian belief in Jesus' status rests on or is derived on the Muslims' belief. Secondly, what is your belief regarding Jesus' return? Do you believe he will return to this world? And what happens after he returns? How is that related to the hereafter, heaven and hell? Peace |
