NO HOPE? What need I hope for? to live forever? What are you afraid of?
I`m content to have a good life, and leave my seed on the planet. When I die I will return to the dust I came from. Seems perfectly natural to me.[/quote]
Are you assuming that the Christian hope is eternal life?
I am sure for some Christians and especially nonbelievers that their ultimate goal or concern in life is eternal life. However, would eternal life on this planet be something to hope for?
The Bible that you do not believe in has much more to say over hope then just an eternal life.
You like physical facts and do not accept spiritual things as being fact. This in itself is explanation enough as to why you find God so hard to believe in. You have more faith in your unbelief then you have in the Creator God who loves you so much.
To be a Christian is far more then attending a church and hoping on eternal life. To be a Christian is to follow in the footsteps of Christ. To desire the things He desires, to strive to see God's will done on earth as it is in Heaven. And to love as we are loved.
The hope I have is not defined as eternal life, the hope I have is in all the promises of God. Are you not tired of the sin that is spreading across the world like an ever-thickening fog? The seed you speak of leaving, what type of world are you leaving for them? How long can this planet continue to be life supporting at the rate we are destroying it? Hope my friend goes far beyond self-greed.
Hope, Christian hope, is to see the day when the completion of God’s redemptive plans is fulfilled. No more sickness, no more deaths, never another teardrop shall fall. God says never again will sin be allowed to rear up its ugly head.
A perfect world, inhabited with perfect people, living in perfect harmony. And walking in the cool of the day with God almighty Himself. This my friend is the hope I have.
No matter what this world may bring against me or any other true believer in the word of God, we know. We know beyond any doubt that the things of this world, this time, this era, are all passing. And one day we will awaken to see God eye to eye, knowing as we are known. And Gods will, will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Christ wept for Jerusalem when He looked down from the hillside, knowing the ultimate cost of their rejection.
So my friend when a believer says their heart is heavy with pity for you because of your rejection of God's gift of reunification. They are not being holier then thou, they are feeling the same concern that Christ feels for those who would reject so great a gift.
If you are a parent do you choose to rob your children of this gift also?
Think about the long term effects you have on those you so desperately try to rob of their faith. You my friend knowingly or not want people to give up all faith and hope of this planet ever being better or new. I only know of one power that desires this destruction.
Again I say, I will pray that God reveals to you so much light of truth that you must knowingly choose death over life. All doubt destroyed. Reunification or rejection, the choice is YOURS!
