Creation of JCF Statement of FaithDo babies goto heaven?Telling me what I believe, now? I've already told you that I do not believe that we have no free will, and I've explained to you why we do have free will. If you still want to believe that free will and election are mutually exclusive, that's you're problem - I've shown you that they are not. We see in verse 3 that the foolish virgins took no oil at all. This implies that they were never saved in the first place. If they had taken a little oil but ran out then you could make the argument that they had "lost their invitations," as it were. But they didn't, so you can't. Good point. Hell was created for Satan and his angels. But as I read verse 41, I don't see where it says that it was created only for Satan and his angels. Unless you know of some other verse that says it was created only for them, then we cannot rule out that it was created for Satan, his angels, and those whom God did not elect. It's sin nature. See, I believe that it is not our sin, per se, that condemns us to hell. It is our sin nature (which is why I think you're on dangerous ground saying that Jesus had a sin nature). And I believe that we are conceived with a sin nature. So a baby that dies must be accountable for that nature, and if God has not chosen to have mercy on it, it must go to hell. Not true. If Jesus had a sin nature, then he would be in need of salvation from that sin nature. Having a sin nature means that you were born in Adam, and that if even if you did everything right (except get saved), you would still go to hell because doing everything right is not what gets you to heaven. Thus if Jesus had a sin nature, He could not have even died for His owns sins, let alone the sins of the world. He would have needed His own savior. Can you explain to me how someone with a sin nature that stains every action he does can die for the souls of the world? No, He didn't. If he was just like us, He would have sinned. But He is not like us - He is God in the flesh. And God cannot tolerate sin, so how can you claim that God would have allowed himself to be draped with a sin nature for His entire life here on earth? Jesus took on the sins of the world for a few hours on the cross, and you know how traumatic that was (earthquakes, sky turned dark, the Father hid His face, etc.) If Jesus took on a sin nature for 33+ years, do you not think that God would have had a similar reaction for the whole 33+ years? |
