Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesOSAS viewsIt doesn't matter who brought them up. But if you want to be picky about it: you started off this thread quoting an author who discussed the disciples of John 6:66, so in reality it was you that brought them into the discussion. But again, that's irrelevant. Drop down to verses 15 and 16 of Matthew 21.
And why would Jesus have said that in saying "Hosanna to the Son of David" the crowd had perfected praise? Praise would not have been perfected if they were only proclaiming Him to be an earthly king because He is so much more than that. Praise could only have been perfected if they were acknowledging who He really was - Messiah. Again with the mudslinging! I am not basing my opinion in Calvin. I am basing it in what I believe the Word teaches. Can you not understand that? I believe my position is every bit as much based in the inerrant Word of God as your believe yours is. You don't need to prove this to me. I already believe this. I just want you to prove, using the inerrant Word, that these people were ever saved before falling into apostacy. OK. The Bible says "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" and "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life". We know that the only way to escape death is to accept the gift of God. We have no proof from the Bible that the people in question ever did this, therefore, there is no problem believing that they were not saved. This "subjective opinion" must be assumed true until proven false because everyone starts out life unsaved - it is our default standing before God when we are born into this world. Until you can prove that they got saved at some point, then we can safely assume that they were not. Again, the burden of proof is on you to prove that they were saved. Your opinion that they were must be considered "subjective" until you can prove otherwise. Don't recall: getting angry Do recall: laughing, because you wouldn't entertain serious debate If you're gonna accuse me of getting anry, at least show me some quotes that demonstrate my anger. |
