First of all I did not post that the disciples of John 6:66 were saved, you brought them into this discussion as proof of your side of the OSAS debate. Second, you are making assumptions that when Jesus entered Jerusalem the people were joyfully hearing the gospel when in fact Scripture does not back up your conclusion:
Matthew 21:1-11
21:1 And when they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them, and bring them to Me. 3 "And if anyone says something to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them." 4 Now this took place that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying,
5 "Say to the daughter of Zion,
'Behold your King is coming to you,
Gentle, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.'"
6 And the disciples went and did just as Jesus had directed them, 7 and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid on them their garments, on which He sat. 8 And most of the multitude spread their garments in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees, and spreading them in the road. 9 And the multitudes going before Him, and those who followed after were crying out, saying,
"Hosanna to the Son of David;
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;
Hosanna in the highest!"
10 And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?" 11 And the multitudes were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee." NAS
Luke 19:35-38
35 And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their garments on the colt, and put Jesus on it. 36 And as He was going, they were spreading their garments in the road. 37 And as He was now approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, 38 saying,
"Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord;
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" NAS
Matthew is clear that the multitude was hailing a man they thought would become king, not a man they knew to be the Son of God.
My position is that people who are saved can fall away from the faith or become apostate, which is based on God's inerrant word not a subjective opinion used to defend a doctrine developed in the 16th century. It seems you are asking me to prove the Bible is inerrant while those who state "they were never saved in the first place" cannot show with Scripture their subjective opinion is true. All I asked is that you back up your opinion with the Bible.
I started this thread over a year ago and only brought it up after you got angry because I closed some threads concerning a doctrine that cause dissention among brothers in Christ.
