Peace all..
Peace2God'sPeople you guys may feel that I am "in the way" in this discussion, but a little enlightenment
I though you started this thread?
Well anyways; your "enlightenment" is truely a spiritual walk in darkness for yourself. Here's why:
Peace2God'sPeople: Christianity had a 500+ year head start on Islam, and yet, its success in the Eastern part of the world has been, overall, abysmal.
So are you actually saying that the success of 1slam in the east is not "abysmal"? I think alot of mus1ims would disagree with you on this.
Peace2God'sPeople: Basically, what all the Christians said to me is that I couldn't blame Christianity itself for the failure of so many of its followers. How did I suggest it was failing? Basically, in arguably the most important area, the family. Divorce rates and worldliness among Christians in the west is pretty shocking, so guess what? We can make the statement that for many Christians, Jesus' message of love and mercy is failing where it counts.
So, could you tell me how Jesus is at fault for this?
Peace2God'sPeople: I mean, really, our consumerists society loves what we have become. We work real hard, make a lot of money, spend it on a lot of junk food, junk toys, junk entertainment, and give some of it to our churches so they can pay the church leaders to bring us healing for our miserable lives again and again. So much of western Christianity seems to be stuck in a rut.
And again, how are you blaming Jesus and His teachings for the faults of men?
Peace2God'sPeople: Now to be honest, I have a new peace about Christianity since I have come to the realization that Jesus' message of love DOES work for some Christians AND that many Christians find great joy praising God with singing and dancing while at the same time, leading very "righteous lives".
Give me a second, I have to stop laughing.
Ok
"Does work for SOME Christians"?
Being a true Christian is to follow in the footsteps of Christ; to take up your own Cross and follow Him.
If Jesus' message doesn't work for someone, then that person is hence; not a Christian.
Peace2God'sPeople: leading very "righteous lives".
Your "rigtheous" life will get you no where in the eyes of the Lord.
NIV Matthew 9 13: Jesus said, But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Peace2God'sPeople: I actually FIND GREAT PEACE knowing that Islam is out there as God's way of bringing submission and justice to the world when they reject Christ's message of God's love.
Um... I'm not sure you know this yet. But 1slam rejects Christ's message too.
Peace2God'sPeople: Does Islam have some issues? Sure it does, and maybe that is an understatement. But do you remember what Jesus said about picking the speck out of your neighbor's eye while there is a plank in your own. What about "with what measure you judge others, you yourself will be judged?"
Yes, but we are called to judge the false prophets, with the guidence of the Holy Spirit. The false prophets that are anti-Christal.
Now, any religion that denies Jesus Christ, is in fact anti-Christal. Therefore, 1slam, is in fact a religion of false prophecy.
Peace2God'sPeople: But guess what? A knowledge of the same God we love is spreading throughout the eastern part of the world and
Too bad history says otherwise.
In 7th century, the heads of the roman catholic church met with the leaders of 1slam. As a deal for peace, the catholic church assured mus1ims that a11ah would be another name attributed to the Lord.
So therefore, we have those ignorant of documented historical text, claiming that a11ah the moon god, and the Lord Creator; are one in the same.
Peace2God'sPeople: While Matthew, Mark, and Luke are the most accurate works we have attesting to who Jesus was, most Christians spend their time in the Gospel of John, and the writings of Paul trying to make Jesus out to be something he wasn't.
Oh, so your saying that the writings of John and Paul are the only areas of the Bible where Jesus is made to be the Son of God, and our Lord and Savior?
Well, let's see:
NIV Matthew 10:39 Jesus said, "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
NIV Matthew 12:8 Jesus said, "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
NIV Matthew 26:64 Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
NIV Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
NIV Luke 7:48 Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
NIV Luke 9:26 Jesus said, "If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels."
Luke 17:24-25 Jesus said, "For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. 25But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation."
I could go on for quite some time. But I think this shows how flawed you previous statement is.
Peace2God'sPeople: In some ways, I kind of do see Jesus as divine, yet I don't see him as an equal of God (and this notion has not a few scriptures to support it).
Well by all means, please quote those said verses.
Peace2God'sPeople: As important as this act of submission is to God, many Christians churches do not expect their members to bow down during their services. In many churches it is a matter of choice and in accordance with the move of God's spirit, but again, it is often not required.
So what a coincidence that God sends Islam where a key aspect of it is the regular bowing down of its followers to God throughout the day.
NIV Matthew 6:5-8 Jesus said, "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."
Peace2God'sPeople: There is a future in the reconciliation of all the people who follow me. Become part of it.
Thats quite arrogant of yourself. I only see you heading for disaster, and I pray that the Lord delivers you before it happens.
He is Lord
Peace and Godspeed
