ArchivedTo the Pagans of Jesus Christ Forums! Hear my cry! :: TO LOKITO LOKI It was 180 A.D. when it reached its climax. The Christian Empire came when Emperor Theodosius banned all Pagan Practice in 394 A.D. 11 years latter Rome was sacked for the first time! The only thing that was spared ironically enough was Christian churches.
How is that stronger if the years fallowing the sack of 411 Rome lost nearly half it's provinces to Parthians, Germans and Berbers! And then the Germans began to claim they were the true emperors! When it became Christian it went down and then broke up to descend into Feudalism where living conditions went down and the church owned almost all the land with the Lords and Vassals. Life in Imperial Rome was by far much better then the German Fiefdoms in the Middle Ages. And then the church went on the Crusades a foolish war seeing as how the Catholic Church was fighting a monotheistic religion based off theirs l Heaven on Earth? I beg to differ! The rest of the world with it's Tribal Societies in Africa and North America as well as in South America were not suffering at all, they lived happy peaceful lives. While these Germans in Europe were suffering under the harsh rule of the church and had very very poor living standards. I am sure these wonderful guilds also helped the people! The fact reminds that while Europe was under a complete absolute Oligarchy of Kings and Church officials and while it was getting hit by the Black Plague (The Olympians punishment on the people of Europe who weren’t worshiping them) The tribal societies had it good, the Mongol Empire in China first started by Genis Kahn was the most vast on Earth! And the Aztec Empire in North America was booming. So I think the other 80% of the world had it much better then the Europeans who were suffering with poor hygiene and non-democratic government. Mongol Golden Horde was much more feared when it came after. And the Vikings once again though they were feared for a little bit ended up becoming Christians either way, so your faith crushed the Vikings. I do believe the Viking gods were helping their worshipers (Odin and his kin) yet having never been assimilated into Zeus's adopted family they never stood a chance. No not in the slightest! Why would it brother me? Their are other gods out their, different regions of the world have different gods. All religion is basically invented because people are needed to create it to begin with. The Spiritual Force has always existed it just needed human belief to get going. The gods always existed as well and they never stopped existing because they were the ones who put it into the minds of the mortals to set up temples and altars for them. They are supreme and universal. Of coarse your absouluty right!! but many Romans from Italy turned to worshiping Celtic gods because these Celtic gods became brothers and sisters to Zeus. By the end of it's Pagan Days, Rome was a mix of multiple and interesting cultures all worshiping over 500 different deities and religions and worshiping the emperor as a god (That is false of coarse, the emperor worship thing, no man is ment to be worshiped as a god). Yes that is Rome's way. I see nothing wrong with its a way of thinking, they were far more enlightened then Jewish Fishermen. May I remind you that Christianity has adopted so many Pagan Customs and cultures that it basically isn't pure anymore? Christmas and Easter are Pagan Holidays that the church first used to convert Pagans. They weren’t called Christmas and Easter. Christians constantly changed their faith to gain more converts. The Pagan Romans changed their faith to accept new cultures into their empire and the help of their gods. After the Romans defeated Hannibal they adopted his goddess Clybe to help them in future campaigns. You are saying that it is wrong to have a melting pot when in reality Christianity is a melting pot as well, if it wasn't Christianity would be the same as it was 1,000 years ago. I know this. But if the Romans had ever learned to build better ships and had never become Christian they would have sailed to the New World and conquered the Aztec Empire and then assimilated their gods. ] Indeed my friend, I think it was because it was like a small Cult that the Romans distrusted at the time. Same with Mithraism and Christianity when they first started out. Then why aren’t humans that were moldeled in his image, Asexual! They are molded like him they should be like him as well. Humans are like the Olympians, corrupt and virtuous all in one and able to produce normally not like a starfish True it is subjective....but also..... I think that is abrubed because we humans were molded after the gods! So we should act and think like them as well. Your point is also subjective as well may I remind you. But if he is truly as great as you wish God to be then he wouldn't be like that, I would think he would be a perfect being devoid of all sins! And sometimes fallowing the advice of one master is not right you need to hear the opinions of others if you catch my drift Exactly!!......your merely saying my gods don't exist because you don't like them, and your "God" doesn't like them either! All Religious Argument is weird to begin with, because it's religion it is hard to explain and interpret! Zeus knows he sins, that is why he tells his followers not to make the same horrible mistake he has made of committing adultery. Everyone is good and evil in some way. But in the end though the gods are sinners they have been seen the begining of time and their virtue will always prevail over their sins. Would you say the same for your god? Wonderful Argument Loki Zeke |
