ArchivedTo the Pagans of Jesus Christ Forums! Hear my cry!Wasn't the Roman Empire at it's Zenith in 400 AD? when it was a Christian Empire? How then did it go down hill when it acctually made it stronger? The only thing that is true about the Roman Empire is that when it fell, it left a gap between all civilasations it depended on previously and vice versa... that they had to build up governing institutions from scratch. Yet with it came neo-Platonic/christian nations, later Aristotilian/Christian nations and then secular/christian nations... leaving the western world a heaven on earth to live in, compared to 80% of the poor world... this under the modesty and values of the Abrahmic God. Wich is in my opinion a far better world then the roman empire... sure we do not have the arrogance and the glory of the roman empire anymore, but that's what made it fell in the first place.
Well they were the most feared warriors of the entire world at that time, if by subjective reasoning you choose your God... then maybe God really loved the Viking and supported his battles.
Doesn't this bother you? that God's are just assimilated into a religion? don't you believe that God's can be invented? Yes i know that the Romans adopted Gods from the culture's they conquered, they merely did so for the culture's to have more identity with Rome... It was strategy Alot of easy answers, that's Rome's way instead of debating the true religion... you make a false one and compile all their supposed 'true' religions in one big melting pot. The Manichean prophet Manes did the same with monotheism... every culture he came into contact with he changed their religions in accordance to his gnostic world interpretation of christianity and zoroastrism... So for a self made example... he changed Brahman for example into Yahweh... made Shiva and Vishnu the archangels Michael and Gabriel... and confided that all other Gods in hinduism are lesser angels who serve Brahman(Yahweh), Karma became sin, Dharma became the Logos(the holy spirit), etc.... it was an easy way of adapting his religion to other cultures, by mixing his truth with their lies. The romans never came into contact with the Aztec's, that was only discovered in the 16th century by Hernandez. It's possible Blavatasky and others may have included them later in their Theo-sophies, but it's impossible for them to be included in the original Pantheon of the Romans. What's more puzzling should be that the only pagans the romans ever persecuted and annihilated (instead of adapted) where the Druids (or the stone worshippers in northern and middle england)
Same goes for the native Americans i guess, i think this is mostly for the sake of cultural identity that this is being kept alive. The Aztec empire was one of the greatest in the world, surpassing or equalling the Romans... alltough it only excisted a century and long after Zeus fall... they fell due to Spanish settlers otherwise if these europe immigrants never set foot on Aztec soil, who knows how big they could of become? Yes, why didn't the romans do that when they had Israel under it's rule? and i don't think adopting God's has any value for truth... adopting God's were the Romans idea of modern day univeralism wich also doesn't care about apologetics.
God is usually thought of as asexual... what would God's need be of reproductive organs in heaven? well, what you find logical is a subjective argument, nothing valid. I think it's absurd to imagine God a family of rulers, who obstruct each other all the time, mess with humans and or punish man because they had a quarrel. Well my faith in christianity is not based upon faith only... what supports me in my faith is overwhelming scriptual and historical arguments, that for me give me a reasonable leg to stand on... next to that you got the holy spirit and ancient prophecies still comming true this very day... showing that God is as living as my next breath. that is Dharma, The Holy Spirit (The Logos), the Universal truth... God calls to all people as the bible says...
Well God has a will, meaning he has a personality, he isn't agnostic about what's good and what's bad... and i think it's only normal that God doesn't make a travesty of his word by not including other Gods. For the simple reason that if you have two master, you will follow one and dissrespect the other. your merely saying God doesn't excist because you don't like him, cause your conclusion of your argument is absurd. How are they just God's then? if they are sinners? who will bring Zeus to justice for his sins? if he is free from it... how can he judge our bad behaviour if he himself is full of it? Will sinners not agree with sinners? if Zeus does adultry will he not have sympathy with the adultry of men? |
