Ok.
But next time(if there is a next time), can you please be more specific? I think this is the second time we had a misunderstanding. The first time I thought the "LOL" was for me, but it was for Tuppence. That "silly" remark also turned out to be for Tuppence.
Sure.

Jumped right into what? The topic?
I DID create this thread. And again, I apologize if I gave a bad first impression by asking the question or according to you, "jumped right into it"--the topic I assume. So, I am sorry once again if I sounded somewhat...blunt.
But that doesn't matter though. Still, if I was really rude about this, you shouldn't react the same way in response. Not that I'm saying you were rude to me. But you DID say I was ignorant, you admitted that. So, if I am ignorant about this(which I won't doubt because I know I have alot to learn, but I am just telling you things based on what I have learned so far), then you should be more polite. This is why I will ask again: Will you laugh at the person's face? <----Now that is NOT being polite.
I was not laughing at you let alone "in your face".

You're right - it doesn't say to call our biological fathers "father". What about in the 'religious sense'? Isn't that the difference?
When it says "no man" that means there is no difference.

Take your priest for example. He's a man, right? Of course he is. What does Matt. 23:9 say again? It says to "CALL NO MAN your father". Yet, your priest(who is a MAN and who is also capable of being infallible) is called "father".
What is your point? Is your biological father a man? Ofcourse he is, yet you call him father, dont you?
I really do not understand your illogical understanding of Matt 23:9.

The verse is just that simple. Doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to understand it and obey it, just read it and it's all common sense. But then again, I have yet alot to learn.
If you apply common sense to Matt 23:9 you would understand that it does not litrally mean you cannot call someone "father", I gave its true meaning in a previous post.

I think I mentioned it more than two times.
The fact that priests are being referred to as "father" in a 'religious sense' and the fact that should I call my dad "father" it is because he is my parent. Likewise, should I call my mom "mother", it is because she is my parent.
That should be the difference.
That should be the difference? according to whom?
The verse says "call
no man your father" stop trying to play lingustic games with the text.

I just got done telling you the difference(unless you have a rebuttal for it), so now you know.
The "difference" that you presented was nothing more then your mere understanding of a false interpretation of Matt 23:9.

But I want to add something first. In our church, we have ministers. We don't call them "minister" or "pastor" and definitely not "father". We refer to each other as "brother" or "sister" [sometimes] followed by their first name.
Well that is YOUR CHURCH, in mine we refer to our priest as "father". In many Protestant churches I have attended they refer to the pastor as Pastor or minister as minister. It varies from church to church and denomination to denomination.
What church do you attend?
